After years of photographing hospitality on land, this year has largely been about capturing hospitality at sea. The opportunity came last year to work with , photographing their hosted charters across multiple major cruise lines, in locations ranging from Alaska to the Caribbean.
I’ve always said that I don’t mind what kind of work I do, as long as I can do it alongside good people. To that point, everyone I’ve worked with from and their surrounding ecosystem has been... just fantastic.
Watching the team members from a company like Effy move as a unit, while creating special moments for their guests at every possible opportunity, has taught me a lot about what it really means to operate at the top of one’s game. I never get tired of sitting in on the morning pump-up meetings. I’m even learning about jewelry and watches along the way.
Every charter is a sprint, a challenge, and a learning experience for which I’m grateful.
And doing morning cardio as the sun rises over an open sea... always special.

I went to my favorite country to see some of my favorite people get married. Love you, TS and Brooke.
For the record, Campari is a food group and my mind’s eye will always see Italy as a honey-toned Giuseppe Tornatore film.

Until recently, the human experience has been defined by process’ preceding outcome.
Now that you can be a fake expert on anything for $20 a month, process is an elective choice.
Pain is an elective choice.
Being a complete human is an elective choice. The most important lessons I’ve learned in my life happened at the intersection of sweat, thought and tears.
Some outcomes just can’t be divorced from the process.
