Cutie arrived at our rescue just in time from CACC while fighting off a cold, but she bounced back like the strong girl she is. Now healthy and thriving, she’s ready to find a forever family who will adore her for the special kitty she is.

This girl believes life is better with a little conversation! Cutie loves to communicate with adorable purr-chirps, sweet meows, and the occasional gentle paw tap when she has something important to say. She wants to be involved, and she’ll happily tell you all about her day.

with Sparks ⚡️

With his soft white and black coat and his kind, hazel eyes, Sparks has a gentle presence that instantly makes you feel at ease. This sweet boy wound up at chicago animal care and control and was completely shut down. Shelters are tough for any cat, but a 15 year old? It’s heartbreaking.

Once rescued, Sparks quickly blossomed and was more than happy to show off his people-loving side. He’ll confidently stroll around the house, checking in on his humans and letting you know —politely, of course — when he wants attention. His meows seem to say, “Excuse me, I think it’s time for snuggling.” 😻

As a mature gentleman, Sparks does have some requirements. He'll need special prescription food for kidney support. And he'd love a drinking fountain to make sure he maintains his healthy hydration. His favorite indulgence? Temptations treats.

1 day later glow up post? Why not.

So yesterday we told you her weight. 4.48lbs. At the end of this post we will tell you her updated weight. Get your guess in now on how much she weighs post-shave!

For those who missed the previous post, we pulled this extremely matted stray from chicago animal care and control yesterday. She’s just one big lump of fur. Where she stopped and her fur began was unknown. 🤪

Thanks to our amazing friends at Groombar Chicago IL - Mobile, groomer Cara was able to get her in for a shave down this morning!! 🤩

While at the spa, we learned a few of her nails had actually grown so long that they curled into her paw pads. We can’t imagine the amount of sheer pain that she was in from those nails + mats. Ugh! Cara was able to clip those out and wash the wounds. ❤️‍🩹

Despite how much she’s been through, this girl was taking her spa day like a CHAMP. In fact she was happy purring through a lot of it! The relief she must feel is immense.

Once back at her foster home, she was quick to show how much better she felt. She is active, chatty, and so sweet. A big change from yesterday.

Okay, so ready to hear her current weight? 3.17 lbs!! She lost 1.31lbs of matted fur 😱 we’re a little shocked, but also beyond relieved for her.

Thank you to Groombar for its incredibly kind donation of the appointment to ensure this girl felt better so quickly. She certainly is eager to show us all how great her glow up will be. 🌟

14 year old Ellie originally came into care after being surrendered to Chicago Animal Care and Control. Despite how tough shelters are for any cat, and especially a senior, Ellie didn’t let that experience slow her down. She’s a gentle, sweet, and charming girl whose aspirations include becoming a professional cuddler. Seriously - this girl is ALLLL about the affection! 😻

In her foster home, Ellie has done great with other resident adult cats. She takes a minute to get to know them, but is happy to have the companionship. She would do well in a home that was multi cat or she would be very successful as a solo pet as well. She is independent enough to be fine with her humans at work during the day, or would gladly be your work from home buddy.
