There’s something about California that seems to come with its own soundtrack. As we began mapping out our journey down the coast, I couldn’t help but hear the Beach Boys harmonizing in the background, or catch myself humming “Do You Know the Way to San Jose?” and “Hooray for Hollywood.” Music has always been a big part of my life as a music teacher, and in many ways this trip felt like composing a new arrangement—familiar themes, but seen through a richer, more seasoned perspective.

In the heart of our quaint town surrounded by rich land and vibrant landscapes, the Warford family has cultivated a flourishing business centered around one of nature’s most beloved flowers: the peony. With their captivating blooms, stunning colors, and intoxicating fragrance, peonies have become the centerpiece of the Warfords’ venture, drawing the attention of locals and visitors alike at the weekly farmers market.
