Brush fire in the Holser Canyon area near Piru, CA. The fire started around 1:25pm and quickly grew out of control.

07/09/24 4:19pm a Ventura County Sheriff’s unit was involved in a traffic collision at the intersection of Santa Clara Ave and Central Ave in Oxnard, CA.

The unit was responding to a call with her lights and sirens traveling southbound on Central when a civilian vehicle traveling Eastbound on Santa Clara Ave collided with the deputy’s vehicle causing her to roll and end up on the roof of her patrol vehicle.

The civilian did stop after the accident and was uninjured. The deputy was able to self extricate herself from the upside patrol vehicle with minor injuries.

The accident is being investigated by CHP Ventura officer.

6/10/22 8am A small plane departing from Camarillo airport crash landed in a field not far from the airport near the 101 and Del Norte Blvd in Oxnard, CA.
The aircraft said to be a Mooney M20T was on its way from Camarillo to Phoenix, AZ when for unknown reasons at this time lost altitude hitting a nearby building on the south side of the freeway before it flew over the 101 and crashed in the field on the north end of the freeway. It seems to have been occupied by a single occupant that was pronounced deceased at the scene.
North and South 101 was impacted but not closed.

10/3/21 9am units responded to a reported structure fire in the 800 block of Stroube St in El Rio.
Units reported a large header of smoke in the air while responding so the incident was quickly upgraded.
First unit on scene reported a fully involved RV with multiple exposures on each site.
No injuries were reported.
