Happy Monday!

Hope you all had a wonderful Father’s Day weekend.

My convo with my husband a couple of weeks back:

Me: What do you want for Father’s Day?

Him: I want a Cherry Pitter.

Me: (At the back of my mind) WTH, why does he want a cherry pitter???!!!

Him: I want a homemade cherry pie with your buttery, flaky crust!

There goes the story of this homemade cherry pie. He wanted to make sure that I will buy the idea to make a cherry pie for him with the use of the pitter so it’s easier. He specifically wanted a lattice pie crust on top too!

Thank you for all that you do for our family. We love you!

The BLUE on top represents peace, truth, and justice.

The RED represents patriotism and courage.

The WHITE triangle stands for purity and equality.

Inside the triangle, a YELLOW SUN with eight rays symbolizes the first eight provinces that rebelled against Spain. (Manila, Cavite, Bulacan, Pampanga, Tarlac, Batangas, Laguna, and Nueva Ecija)

Three YELLOW STARS on the corners of the triangle stand for the three main island groups Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

Together all these symbols honor the early Filipinos who fought the Spanish colonizers, gaining the independence the Philippines enjoys today.
