The Big Awesome Charity of Nona Foundation, or BACON, was established as a 501c3 in 2014 in response to the overwhelming success of a local grass-roots fundraising event, The PIG RUN of Lake Nona. BACON’s mission is to provide financial and material assistance to charitable organizations that provide services to children and youth, between the ages of birth to 18 years, who are hospitalized and battling life threatening or terminal illnesses, and their families.

Today we had the opportunity to see all the good PIG RUN of Lake Nona has done for Nemours Children’s Hospital as they unveiled the naming of their Child Life Play Room. The money raised throughout the years has gone into an endowment and the hospital will be able to purchase supplies and equipment for their Child Life program from the accrued interest.
Thanks to Mike and Janna Oslund for being pillars of strength and awesomeness in our community. Thank you to the BACON Foundation Board for being part of such a huge and amazing accomplishment.
