“Careful around the eyes”. I should have remembered this advice from Hot Ones.
I read cayenne pepper is a great squirrel deterrent. I’ve lost two tomato plants to those jerks this past week! So I bought a 5lb container of cayenne and sprinkled it around the perimeter of the flower/veggie garden. It did not occur to me that a light breeze might be a problem during this endeavor 😩 🥵 😰
It took a spigot eye wash and 5 min of tearily shouting profanities before the pain subsided and I realized I wasn’t blind. Other than my bruised ego, I was going to be okay.
Eye protection is definitely in order for the next sprinkle and it better freakin keep those squirrels out!
May 2026 update! Our first attempt at micro flower farming :) it’s starting to warm up and we’re getting more plants in every day. I can’t wait to see everything in full bloom in a few months! 🌻
Almost 7 weeks old and fully feathered 🐥 time for the chicks first night out of the brooder.
I wasn’t sure how I was going to transition them with the adults and I decided to use the old covered chicken run in their pen as a temporary transition area. It’s not the most secure so I’m hoping just a couple days in there will be sufficient. Wish us luck! 🤞 🍀
