Calling all couples! I usually try to steer away from couples classes, the women tend to finish the class shooting better than the men and someone goes home butt hurt. For February 9-14, if you are looking for something fun and different for Valentine's day, consider a couples class. If you have another married couple who would like to attend with you, we can do a max class size of 4.

This will be a two hour class, starting from bare basic fundamentals, like grip and stance, up to holster draw. One hour hands-on class with technique and familiarity drills finishing the last hour with live fire. Who ever scores highest wins a gift certificate to Bravo Concealment. This is a private range setting, no pressure, just fun and friendly competition! Leave your pride at home men, unless you want to lose to your bride?!

Message to book your class. Classes can be done at your home ,if that is your preference, and the private range is in Mauriceville.

Church security can be a daunting task to get started. An even bigger task if there is one loosely formed looking to get organized and legitimate. Churches have concerns ranging from insurance, liabilities, policies and procedures, legalities, training, continued training, incidence reporting, forms creation, logs and records, personal carry insurance, making sure the balance of ministry and protection is welcoming and not a deterrence to visitors, making sure the softer ministries are adequately covered, mandatory reporting issues, and a slew of other concerns.

You can understand why so many decide to just allow some of the congregation to carry and respond. In small towns, this may be a start, but when something kicks off and there is no plan, it is easy to see how this spirals into chaos. No leader, no direction, no understanding, no plan, and no training. It just doesn't work in reality.

There are several local churches with "teams", but they are winging it. There is a leader. They may do training once or twice a year, no written plan, no understanding, no plan. Less chaos, more chance at success.

Very few churches have a solid plan, solid oversight, solid policies and procedures, solid training schedule, and solid leadership that is supported from the board level to the pew.

We don't know what we don't know. If you have a team without real world experience it isn't a deal breaker, it just requires more training and more organization with good leadership. You aren't creating a militia. A security team is still a ministry. We still rely on the Lord to lead and guide. He wouldn't leave his church without the pieces necessary to keep it running and safe. It is just a matter of having the right people, who are called.

Here at SixEight, we have put together a 4 part system. Policies and procedures, a master SOP, board/executive policies, director level procedures, and a volunteer handbook. Each giving the necessary guidance and steps for each level. They get the info they need in a language they can understand with the oversight of the Master SOP and they all tie in seamlessly using the same language. They aren't seperate guides, but complimentary. This system includes on boarding documents, a 25 question test with an answer key. Consent forms, reporting forms, after action report, training schedule, logs and records forms. This is a complete system that can be rolled out, just add the volunteers. It leans very heavy to ministry. That should be the overall goal. That IS our goal!

If you are wanting to get your team started but have no idea where to start, message us! If you have a team and want to get legitimate, message us. If you have a team and feel good about it, but want to see if you can get better, message us.

If you are looking for a carry insurance for your team, definitely give us a call or message us!

Pastors, church leaders, and anyone interested in church security. While I am putting together a training system for churches, I want to hear from you.

What concerns you most? What is stopping you from starting a team? What has been an issue or issues that has hindered the growth of your team? Is insurance a concern, a hard stop factor? What kind of training would you like to see for your team? What has been lacking in any training you may have already had?

My mindset, security teams should be treated as a ministry. It is not intended to replace law enforcement. It is not a punishment team. It should be treated just like any other ministry in your church. It is not a secret police. If there is a balance to strike between compassion and welcoming verses protection, it should lean more to compassion and welcoming. I have seen a few directors and pastors use the teams incorrectly. In an abusive manner. That should NEVER happen.

What is it you specifically need for your church? I honestly want to know!

I have been working on a church security program for the last two weeks. The focus has been on structure and policy. I am creating a four part system, in my opinion as compared to the other materials out there from competitors, this one is the most robust and complete SOP in this lane. This system has the Master SOP, a policy and procedure guide aimed at the Board level, a policy and procedure for the director of the team, and policy and procedures for the volunteer.

All four will work together, using the same language and thought all the way through, the idea is the three levels perform different tasks and have different requirements, one SOP just isn't adequate and the language isn't always fitting for every role to understand. The volunteer guide, I felt, was important to be able to give them something they could read on their own, have language that is easy to understand, and only focused on what they needed to know. The board level guide has the same thought, just along the lines of what the board needs.

They will compliment each other and should bring clarity to each role. This is written with Texas law and church insurance in mind.

Once this is completed, I will start creating training on these policies, complete with slides and test/answer keys for the churches to help role out the procedures and policies easily and for on-boarding new volunteers, or refreshers over the SOPs or any revisions that may be added over time.

I wanted to create something that would help churches get teams started, take out the guess work or questions the board or pastors may have, help with insurance language and Texas laws. There is already so much involved in ministry, hopefully and prayerfully, these guides will help get the teams Jumpstarted and on the right track right from the start with minimal effort or extra thought pulled away from the other duties a pastor and board my have on their plates.

Having a security team can stir up a lot of feelings and usually will have a lot of doubt or questions around it. Don't let this daunting task keep you from starting a team or streamlining the one you have already.

Get with us and see how we can help you get your footing or take the first step.

I have been quietly trying to partner with some companies who's sole mission is church security. I figured the best way in was to use the knowledge and access that someone in that arena already has. After lots of emails and research, I have decided it isn't worth the effort. Either the training material is severely lacking or almost non-existent. Probably equally disappointing or worse, the "trainer" who comes out to present the slides isn't even a certified instructor...in anything.

I know several churches who have paid over $2k for a 2-4 hour slide reading from a guy who is head of his church security team and a chemist as a day job. What is his expertise? He learned off of the same slides he is reading and other YouTube videos. When asked questions, it's rambling and poorly answered.

I could never partner with any of these companies and with a good conscience charge your church $2k plus. Just because they are all doing it, doesn't make it right.

If you want a consultation to go over your plan and get ideas, I'll do that for free. If you are having trouble establishing an SOP, I'll give you my template for free. When I get my curriculum established and a training plan in place, (most likely won't even be half the price the big boys charge), you will get a certified instructor who has been teaching various firearm disciplines for years, currently NRA pistol instructor certified, and LTC instructor certified. This is my day job. If your team needs members LTC certified (I highly recommend), I can help you get that done at a discount and establish a class just for your team members at their convenience. If your team isn't covered under a self defense insurance (highly recommend), I can help with that as well, at a discount.

The goal is to protect the flock, not fleece it.

If you or your church have specific needs or questions, message me. I might not have the answer to every question your specific church has, but I'll have enough integrity and honesty to tell you, "I don't know, but I will find you the answer", and it won't even cost you a small fortune.

If you scored your first firearm, or if you haven't fired one in a while, lacking confidence in your weapon or abilities, or want to improve, consider booking a Learn to Shoot class, one on one, or even a husband/wife class. A few hours in the classroom and a few hours on the range to dial it all in. I highly recommend this class before attempting the LTC range qualification if you are a beginner or not feeling confident.

Since constitutional carry, it is getting harder and harder to fill seats. Thanks to the Somalis, I have figured out a way to make MORE money with NO students!

Dry Fire Mag 12/31/2025

Ever get discouraged from range time due to ammo costs, range fees, time, heat/cold, or a slew of other reasons. DryFireMag has a dry fire trigger reset magazine system that really is amazing. You get the dry fire practice without having to rack the slide each time. They don't have mags for every make and model yet, but I have a feeling they will be adding new models as they grow. Most the top brands are there.

My favorite part, they are a Christian business.

Go check the rundown on my website and click the ad to see what they offer, feel free to watch the videos and read some reviews to get a good idea of what you are missing out on!

Today is the last day for their 10% off sale.

Dry Fire Mag The Dry Fire Magazine™ is a training magazine that uses your own gun and installs in seconds. Insert the mag and start dry fire training anywhere. You can practice shooting right from home! No More…

This happens often. Prayers for all involved!

Not everyone has it in them to confront evil head on, but when cornered, what will you do? What will you fight with? What will you fight for? What kind of training will you have supporting you, or will you just wing it?

Things like this aren't going away. No amount of laws will prevent criminals intent on harm from following through. Gun free zones and anti gun signs only make law abiding citizens feel the warm and fuzzys, it prevents nothing.

It is time to get into training. It is time to learn your weapon. Constitutional carry is awesome, but it doesn't make anyone an expert and it doesn't grant you superpowers to be the OpErAtOr you have dreamed about. It doesn't come by way of osmosis. Hard work, dedication, time, money, and follow through is the closest you will get to any kind of boost to surviving a mass casualty event. Trusting your family or your life to winging it or how paw paw taught you isn't a gamble I would want to take.

If you are embarrassed about where you are concerning training and fi****ms, send us a message. I would love to set something up one on one. If you need refreshers on any part of the firearm you carry, proper grip, or anything beyond, message us and let us help you get something tailer made for you.

Want your LTC, but don't want to commit an entire morning to a classroom, I offer an online LTC course. Our range is private and there is no fear of big crowds or a lot of eyes watching you to make you nervous. The goal is to empower you and give you confidence with the firearm you carry, or to empower you and give you confidence to carry one. Whatever it is that you need or is holding you back, message us, let us help you!
