Attention residents of Winthrop, Twisp, Methow Valley and surrounding areas:

Please be advised that internet service will be temporarily unavailable for approximately one hour during a planned maintenance window tomorrow October 8th between 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM. A longer maintenance window is being called for to address any problems that may come up.

This brief outage is necessary to perform essential maintenance at a mountain top location.

We want to share an update on this morning’s outage. Overnight, our team completed scheduled maintenance to upgrade and modernize the network by replacing aging equipment. Unfortunately, shortly after the maintenance was completed, a separate piece of older hardware — also slated for replacement — failed unexpectedly.
This was an unfortunate coincidence that extended the outage beyond the planned window. Our crews are working urgently to resolve the issue and continue with the upgrades that will make the network more reliable and provide greater capacity going forward.
We know how disruptive this is and truly appreciate your patience. We’ll keep posting updates here as we make progress.

NCI Datacom will be performing another round of essential network maintenance this evening into the early morning hours.
Please do not reset your wireless router during this time.

This work is needed to boost network performance and deliver an even smoother, more reliable online experience for our customers.

Date: Evening/Night of 9/25/25 into the morning of 9/26/25

Time: 1:00 am of 9/26/25 to 4:00 am

Impact: Expect customer internet access to be affected during the work.

The actual upgrade work is expected to take approximately one hour with the possibility of multiple outages during this time, however a longer window is called to allow time to address any problems that may come up.
