5/17 Sunday Omaha Severe Weather - Ask me any questions you have in the comments! More thunderstorms will develop Sunday afternoon. Both today and Monday will have a higher tornado potential than the last few days when it was primarily the wind and hail concerns, which still remains the primary concern today (very large 2-4.5” hail and 70-80mph wind).
Posted is the NWS outlook plus the tornado outlook, which is focused over Norfolk, NE and into Sioux City, IA. Our thought is storms form after 2-3pm, and the main wave of rain into the metro after 6pm.
⛈️⛈️ The lack of May rain in Omaha and Lincoln likely comes to an end this weekend, and it could come with several chances at severe weather. Still a few days out..Sunday is the day we are most concerned about. We could end up with more than 1.00” of rain!
