During an election year, there are certain restrictions on my communications to prevent the use of public, state resources for campaign purposes. One of these restrictions is a freeze on this Facebook account, meaning the page will not be updated beginning May 4, 2026, until after the general election in November. Last year, the Legislature passed House Bill 1217, also known as rent stabilization. This measure amended both the Residential Landlord Tenant Act and the Manufactured/Mobile Home Landlord Tenant Act providing additional tenant protections, including limiting how much a landlord can increase a tenant’s rent over a 12-month period. This change provides much needed predictability for renters at a time when the cost of living is high for many of us.
