Colonel Mark B. Hall regrets to announce the unexpected death of Sgt. Brian J. Ross, a 19-year veteran of the New Hampshire State Police.

Sgt. Ross began his career as a patrol Trooper in Troop A and went on to fulfill a variety of entrusted roles, including assignments with the Major Crime Unit, the Special Events Response Team and the Motorcycle Unit. The New Hampshire Trooper’s Association has also established a fund for Sgt. Ross’ family. Anyone who wishes to make a contribution can visit SgtBrianRoss.FirstResponderProcessing.com

If you are reading this and things feel really heavy right now, please know you are not alone. I know it can feel overwhelming, like the pain will not let up or no one understands. But your life matters, even if your mind is telling you otherwise. You do not have to carry this by yourself. Reaching out to someone who cares can make a difference. Please stay. One moment at a time. One breath at a time. You are worth that effort. If today feels like too much, just focus on getting through right now. You are not a burden. You deserve care and support. You are not alone. Your story is not over. 💚
