5,500 Strong! But We're Not Done Yet.
We are so grateful for every person who has shown up for Coweta County.

But we have one request to those who haven’t signed yet:
If you signed a previous petition 𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲, please sign this one too.

𝙏𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙞𝙨 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙖𝙢𝙚 𝙥𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣.

Previous petitions were a way to show support. This one is a legal instrument under Georgia law. If we collect 14,000 valid signatures from registered Coweta County voters, the county is REQUIRED by law to put the data center subject to a public vote.
No commissioners deciding for us. A vote by the people.

We are 39% of the way there. We need 8,500 more signatures.

We are in awe of this community.

Volunteers drove from one end of Coweta County to the other, some covering three locations in the blazing heat. And not one person complained. Not one.

Thirsty, hot, and still smiling. That's who you are.

Because of YOU, we added thousands of signatures to the official legal petition. Every name on that page is a neighbor who wants a say in what happens to this county, and you made that possible.

𝗣𝗘𝗧𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗧𝗢𝗧𝗔𝗟 𝗨𝗣𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗘
We know that many of you are excited to hear the final totals from Saturday's event. We are over half way through verifying and are at 2,700 signed petitions.

We did not expect such a large number to show up with the short notice. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who showed up and waited with kindness and grace.

We plan to be at several locations this weekend and at different times. Please keep an eye out for more information and continue to tell friends and neighbors.

𝐈𝐌𝐏𝐎𝐑𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐓 𝐔𝐏𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄
After 5:00 PM today, we received the pictured email from Coweta County informing us that the community centers listed in our previous post are rented facilities and that permission must be obtained before promoting events at those locations or at public areas such as Hunter Park and the parks adjacent to the community centers.

This comes after two weeks of phone calls and attempts to contact the County that went unanswered.

Unfortunately, because this notice arrived after County offices closed for the weekend, we have no opportunity to seek the required permission before Saturday. As a result, we must bend, but not break.

Therefore, at the times and locations previously posted, Coweta County citizens will still be present, but we will not have tents. We will not place signs in the ground. We will simply be peacefully existing on public property and exercising our rights as members of this community.

We invite you to stop by and see us.

We will have copies of a petition asking that Coweta County voters be given the opportunity to voice their opinion on the proposed data centers in our county. This issue belongs to the people, and the people deserve a voice.
