Rabbitâs Top 5 Santa Claus Origin Movies
If you're looking to dive into the magic, mystery, joy, and heartbreak behind the worldâs most beloved gift-giver, these five Santa origin films each offer something beautifully different. Here are Rabbitâs top picksâand why each one deserves a spot on your holiday watchlist.
1. Santa Claus: The Movie (1998)
This film takes you all the way back to where the legend first beganâa humble husband and wife whose greatest dream comes true in a way they never expected. Instead of having just one child, they become caretakers of every child in the world. The movie rushes through the ages, revealing answers to many classic Santa questions: how he gets down chimneys, where the iconic red suit originated, and how the world around him evolved from the 1800s to present day. Itâs a warm, nostalgic ride through time with a surprisingly heartfelt core.
2. Klaus (Netflix)
Klaus offers a beautifully unique take on Santaâs beginningsârooted in carpentry, compassion, and unexpected friendship. This version shows how a single act of kindness can create ripples that change an entire community, much like a stone dropped into a still pond. Blending sorrow, hardship, joy, and humor, Klaus reminds viewers that goodness can grow anywhere, even in the coldest places.
3. The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus (2000)
One of Rabbitâs absolute favoritesâan annual must-watch. While it answers all the traditional questions (chimneys, reindeer, the workshop), it adds something extra:
What was Santa like as a baby?
And how is he still alive after all these years?
Instead of following the typical St. Nicholas route, this story takes a more magical path filled with mystical creatures, ancient beings, and epic fantasy. If youâve ever wondered what growing up in different eras and lands could look like, this movieâs enchanting world-building makes it a standout.
4. The Santa Clause (1994)
Perhaps the most famous modern Santa origin film, this one spawned two sequels and a whole legacy of its own. With a more comedic, Hollywood-style charm, it dares to ask:
What would happen if Santa fell off the roof?
And what if the new Santa already had a life, family, and identity?
This film shows not just the transformation into Santa but the day-to-day challengesâfrom navigating the workshop and bonding with elves to figuring out who you are when your whole world changes.
5. Christmas Story (2007)
A more dramatic and emotional take on Santaâs origins, this film explores where his boundless love for children truly comes fromârooted in both deep suffering and profound kindness. With far less movie magic and a much more realistic tone, Christmas Story shines a light on pain, resilience, and the belief that even in darkness, there is always hope around the corner. Itâs heartfelt, grounded, and full of surprising emotional twists. Thereâs even a noteworthy surpriseâbut youâll have to watch to discover it.

Guillermo del Toroâs Frankenstein
Rabbit reviews:
Guillermo del Toro delivers a hauntingly beautiful adaptation of Mary Shelleyâs iconic horror masterpiece, and he does so with striking faithfulness to the source material. As expected, his vision is drenched in darkness, gothic atmosphere, and twisted themesâbut he masterfully threads in glimmers of light that make this version stand out in a sea of adaptations.
What truly sets this film apart is the way del Toro re-examines both the creature and the world that condemned him. He doesnât just retell Shelleyâs storyâhe invites us to feel it. He challenges the viewer to look beyond the surface, to see the heart beating inside the so-called âmonster,â and to reflect on how society still treats those who are different. That is, if you know how to look.
Unlike most adaptations, del Toro brings a perspective only he could craftârichly atmospheric, emotionally charged, and visually unmatched. His storytelling honors the original text while breathing new life into it. Youâll find shadows and sorrow in every frame, yet hidden within that darkness is a spark of humanity, hope, and heartbreaking beauty.
I couldnât imagine a better filmmaker to take on this story. Del Toro didnât just adapt Frankensteinâhe honored Mary Shelley in every way that counts.

Asylum Confessions by Jack Steen
Book 1 of 9
Rabbit reviews
Asylum Confessions by Jack Steen is not your typical horror readâitâs a mind-bending, deeply unsettling experience that crawls under your skin and refuses to leave. These âconfessionsâ are dark, creepy, and brilliantly disturbing. You never truly know whatâs real or fabricated, and honestly, it doesnât matter. The pain, the fear, the uneaseâyou feel it regardless.
Yes, letâs address it: the grammar errors are there, and they are everywhere. But hereâs the thingâJack Steen warns you in the first couple of chapters. If perfect grammar is your hill to die on, do yourself a favor and skip this book⊠actually, skip every book on Earth. This story isnât meant to be polished. Itâs meant to be flawed, jagged, and raw. And in those flaws lies its unsettling charmâthe very thing that entangles you in its twisted web.
With each confession, youâll find yourself thinking:
âThis sounds too realâŠâ
or
âThereâs no way things like this happen in asylums⊠right?â
Thatâs the trap. Once this book sinks its hooks into your curiosity, it wonât let go.
My advice? Ignore the reviewsâboth good and badâand judge it for yourself. This isnât a book you simply read. Itâs one you experience, one that consumes you a little at a time.
I originally bought this for my partner, thinking it would be a fun spooky read. After finishing the first book, he immediately wanted the rest of the series. That should tell you all you need to know.
If youâre brave enough to venture into the dark, do so with an open mind⊠and maybe leave a light on.

The Twits
2025
PG
Rabbit reviews:
Thereâs something unexpectedly moving about The Twits. Beneath its chaos and laughter lies a quiet truth â how exhausting it can be to carry the weight of the world on your shoulders. Sometimes you give so much of yourself trying to hold everything together that you forget to breathe.
This film reminds us that weâre not meant to do it all alone. Teamwork, love, and connection lighten even the heaviest burdens. When we share the load, life feels a little softer â a little more possible.
What stayed with me most was its message about family. Thereâs no single way to define one. Family can be messy, unconventional, beautifully strange â but love is the thread that ties it all together. The Twits captures that in its wild, whimsical way: the idea that home isnât about perfection, itâs about belonging.
Itâs a reminder that even in the chaos, thereâs warmth. Even in the struggle, thereâs love. And even when you feel like youâre holding up the sky â you donât have to do it alone. đđ

Rabbit Reviews:
I absolutely love this Samhain coloring book! You can really tell how much thought went into it. The pictures are not only gorgeous but also full of meaning, each one tied to the lore and traditions of Samhain. I learned so many new things about the holiday while coloringâitâs like getting a mix of art and history all in one.
The variety of pages is fantastic too. There are simpler designs that are great if youâre just starting out, and more detailed ones if you really want to take your time and get lost in the process. No matter your skill level, thereâs something here for everyone.
What makes it extra special for me is the combination of detailed explanations with the artwork. Itâs more than just a coloring bookâit feels like an experience. Iâve been able to relax, enjoy coloring, and also connect with the deeper meaning of Samhain. Definitely one of the best seasonal books Iâve picked up, and Iâll be pulling it out year after year!

Full disclosure review:
I suffer from not only acne, but I also have Rosacea. I have tried many things over the years from normal facial cleansers to alcohol based facial pads. They were all short term solutions because my acne would still get out of control. However when I tried Neutrogena hydro boost I could actually feel it working as it was on my face. After a couple uses my acne became easier to control. After the other products I used my skin felt dryer then before i used them. Until I used Neautrogena my skin felt less dry.
