In Pennsylvania, a guy got convicted for using a thermal drone to help hunters find a wounded deer. That is absolutely insane. Drones should be 100% illegal for hunting, no question. A thermal drone makes killing a big buck incredibly easy. You don’t need woodsmanship, you don’t need patience, you don’t even need to know the land. You just fly a few hundred feet up, scan the woods, and every deer lights up like a Christmas tree. That’s not hunting. That’s cheating. If game wardens didn’t shut that down, every big buck in the country would get wiped out by guys sitting at home in sweatpants pushing a joystick.

This Pennsylvania man wasn’t doing that. He wasn’t hunting with a drone, he was tracking wounded deer. And that should be 100% legal everywhere. It’s one of the best tools ever invented for recovery. We used a drone recently after a deer ran farther than expected, and the pilot found it in about 30 seconds. That saved the meat, saved the deer from going to waste, and kept us from pushing it even deeper into the woods. Drones for recovery help hunters put more meat in the freezer, recover more animals, and waste less. Why are states punishing people for doing the right thing?
