Built from salvaged materials tied to the market’s history and the surrounding neighborhood, the work reflected a Lower East Side in flux while continuing Creative Time’s history of producing site-specific projects that spark dialogue around neighborhoods on the verge of change.

This May, in celebration of Lower East Side History Month, over 70 organizations across the LES have come together for tours, performances, exhibitions, and public programs honoring the stories and communities that shape the neighborhood. Organized by our neighbors and partners FABnyc, the month celebrates the Lower East Side–which historically encompassed the East Village, Alphabet City, Chinatown, Bowery, Little Italy, and NoLIta–as a longstanding site of refuge, mutual aid, and immigrant community.

We’re honored to be part of the Lower East Side community and its ongoing story. Explore the full calendar of at their link in bio.
