A quick reminder for anyone taking delivery of a new vehicle:

Even if you have no interest in ceramic coating, it’s still a great idea to have your new vehicle professionally inspected shortly after taking delivery.

It’s surprisingly common to find issues related to manufacturing, transportation, dealership prep, or improper washing before the owner ever notices them.

The sooner these issues are documented, the better your chances of having them addressed by the dealership under warranty or goodwill assistance.

The longer you wait, the harder those conversations can become.

A second set of trained eyes on a new vehicle can save a lot of frustration later on.

In 12 Years of installing ceramic coatings, I’ve Never Charged a Customer Twice to Recoat the Same Vehicle With One of Our Long-Term Ceramic Coatings.

Let me clarify that statement.

Does that apply to our 1-year coatings? No.

Our annual coatings are designed to be reapplied and refreshed regularly and are a great option for some customers.

This statement applies specifically to our long-term ceramic coatings — our 3-year and 5+ year systems.

Over the past 12 years and hundreds of installations, I’ve never had a customer pay twice to recoat the same vehicle with one of our long-term coatings.

Have I reapplied coatings? Absolutely.

Sometimes a vehicle was involved in an accident and needed body work. Insurance companies typically cover the cost of recoating repaired panels, and I’ve never personally had a claim denied for ceramic coating reapplication unless the vehicle was totaled.

Sometimes I wasn’t happy with how a coating was performing years later and chose to refresh or reapply it.

Sometimes a black truck gets scratched up and the owner decides to invest in additional paint correction.

Sometimes the vehicle simply needs a deep decontamination and maintenance service.

The customer absolutely pays for maintenance, decontamination services, and fixing damage or wear that naturally occurs over time.

But the actual reapplication of the coating itself?

The customer wasn’t paying for that part.

The coating product, material cost, and labor to reapply one of our long-term coatings has always been on me.

The secret isn’t magic coatings.

The secret is maintenance, maintenance, maintenance.

Some of the nicest daily drivers I maintain belong to customers who either hand wash properly every week (the rare 1%) or find a good touchless automatic car wash and bring the vehicle back once or twice a year for maintenance.

Honestly, I’d rather see a few water spots than scratches from brushes, improper washing, bird etching, bug etching, or a vehicle that simply never gets washed at all.

For our long-term coatings, touchless automatic washes are perfectly acceptable and often the best option for busy truck owners and families.

That said, yearly maintenance at Pristine is crucial.

Road film, mineral deposits, iron contamination, and environmental fallout all build up over time and need to be professionally removed if you want the coating to continue performing as intended.

More importantly, I need to see the vehicle periodically.

Annual maintenance appointments allow me to inspect the coating, remove contamination, address problem areas early, touch up anything that needs attention, and make sure your investment continues performing the way it should.

This is exactly why many of the vehicles I coated 8, 10, and even 12 years ago are still performing so well today.

Please avoid harsh products such as Simple Green and strong all-purpose cleaners on coated surfaces always. Lower-quality coatings and exterior trim can especially suffer from repeated exposure to aggressive chemicals.

My goal has never been to sell you ceramic coatings over and over again.

My goal is to coat your vehicle once, maintain it properly, and keep it looking incredible for as long as you own it.

If you’re willing to maintain the vehicle and bring it back for regular maintenance, I’m willing to maintain the coating.

Because after 12 years of doing this, I’ve learned something important:

Nothing on a daily driver is truly once and done.

Not oil changes.

Not tires.

Not brakes.

And not ceramic coatings.

But with the right coating, yearly maintenance, and realistic expectations, your vehicle can continue looking incredible for many years to come.
