In 2024, Donald Maier died of malnutrition and dehydration in solitary confinement in a Wisconsin prison. NPAP member Jeff Scott Olson helped win a nearly $4m settlement on behalf of his family, holding the prison accountable for the neglect that caused his death, which has since been ruled a homicide.
