Emotional abuse doesn’t always leave visible scars—but that doesn’t make it any less real.
It can sound like constant criticism, silent treatment, manipulation, or being made to feel “too sensitive” for simply expressing your feelings. Over time, it chips away at your confidence, your sense of self, and your ability to trust your own thoughts.
What makes it especially hard is that it often hides behind excuses: “I was just joking,” “You’re overreacting,” or “I only said that because I care.” But love should never make you feel small, confused, or afraid to speak up.
If you’ve ever questioned your worth because of how someone treats you, pause and remember this: respect, kindness, and emotional safety are not optional in any relationship they’re the baseline.
If this resonates with you, you’re not alone. Talking about it is not weakness. It’s the beginning of reclaiming your voice.
