This memory popped up today, my last day managing a 112-unit apartment community in Conway.
That season stretched me in ways I never expected. There were long days, heavy moments, hard conversations, and situations that tested me both professionally and personally. But there was also connection, laughter, and relationships that meant more to me than I can explain.
During Covid when schools shut down and everything felt chaotic, my office became more than an office. It became homework time, snack time, structure, and sometimes just a safe place to sit and talk. These kids, and their families will always have a special place in my heart.
Walking away was one of the hardest professional decisions I’ve ever made. I didn’t leave because I didn’t care. I left because I had to protect my license, my standards, and my long-term future. Sometimes obedience to what you know is right doesn’t feel good in the moment but later you see why God was pushing you forward.
I started my own property management company right after that. It didn’t grow overnight. There were quiet months. Doubt. Long hours. Prayers. But over the last two years, Monarch has grown steadily, and I’m incredibly grateful for how far it has come and the trust so many owners and families have placed in me. Looking back, I can see how that season prepared me in ways I didn’t understand at the time.
I still think about these sweet faces. I hope they’re thriving. I hope they know they mattered to me more than they’ll ever realize.
Some chapters are painful to close but they’re the very ones that build you into who you’re meant to become. 💗
