We built an off grid central resource center for shade, solar powered phone charging station, resource information and a common area. It’s a great space to meet, talk and make connections

❤️ it's possible

Camp O continues to prove what is possible when people are given an opportunity instead of an ultimatum.

Since February 2025, we've welcomed 45 women into Camp O. With an average census of 13 residents, that means our average length of stay is just under 5 months. Those months aren't simply about having a safe place to sleep—they're about rebuilding lives.

Today, 11 of our 15 residents are receiving income. That's more than 73% of our current community taking meaningful steps toward financial stability.

Even more encouraging, approximately 70% of our current residents are no longer struggling with substance use. Considering that nearly 90% of the women who enter Camp O arrive with substance use challenges, these outcomes are extraordinary.

These numbers directly challenge the false narrative that low-barrier shelter is "just a place to do drugs."

The data tells a different story.

Low-barrier shelter is often the first step toward recovery, stability, employment, and permanent housing. It creates the foundation people need before they can successfully engage in treatment, address trauma, secure income, and rebuild relationships.

Camp O isn't the end of the journey—it's the beginning of one. It is a critical piece of the continuum of care.

Results like these don't happen because of one organization. They happen because a community comes together with a shared purpose. We couldn't have made this progress without the incredible support and collaboration of Opening Doors Northwest Florida, Rotary Club of Gulf Breeze, Escambia County CORE, Lakeview Center MRT, Community Health Northwest Florida, Escambia County Sheriff's Office, and every donor, volunteer, advocate, and supporter who believes in this mission.

A special shoutout to our GOAT Team, whose relentless commitment to walking alongside our residents every step of the way is changing lives every single day.

Thank you for believing that recovery, stability, and hope are possible. Together, we're proving that when a community invests in people instead of giving up on them, lives change.

We need more of this in our nation and communities.

Laundry bonanza!

While we were prepping and planning our Summer Laundry Schedule, we realized that we've had our free laundry program running for 1 whole year! In that year, we've helped hundreds of individuals facing homelessness and struggling families wash thousands upon thousands of pounds of laundry with dignity and respect.

We couldn't have done the past year without you! Really. Many thanks to our volunteers who jump in, feet first, and help our laundry day run smoothly. Big thanks to the individuals, businesses, other non-profits, and neighbors who have wholeheartedly supported this initiative.

We love to see our community come together to lift up and stand beside their neighbors.

Thank you!

It was wonderful to see so many people gather together for a cause. Everyone had the opportunity to express concerns about housing, community resources and for people that are struggling.
