I feel grateful to have been able to groom this little one. I encourage you to read his rescue story, which showcases the compassion of wonderful pet parents.
Gizzamo's story
On December 4th, 2023, as I was heading back from Louisville in my semi, I thought that I noticed a small black dog in the median of interstate 71 at mile marker 68 in Kentucky, but I was unsure if it were a dog or if it were debris? I had the thought of hearing once that when a dog is "dumped off", that they often remain close to that spot. I made up my mind that the following day if I would see what I thought was a dog, that I would stop my semi. On my way back the next morning, I looked in the same area, and there he was. I pulled over immediately, ran across the interstate to him. It was 35° and raining, as I came up to him, he looked up at me frightened yet frozen in place. I reached out to pick him up, he gave a "scream" at 1st. I tucked him under my arms and ran back across the interstate to my semi. I held him and attempted to comfort him. After a while he laid down on the seat and fell asleep, but he kept waking up to look at me. All that I could think of was how many thousands of of other people drove past him and did not stop. I could not understand why someone would "dump" him off? After work, I brought him to our local vet, they were shocked that he was still alive! He did not have any tag implant or any other identifying indicators. He had a serious case of arthritis in his right leg and was malnutrited. He came home to my wife and our other dog Maggie May. He soon became known as Gizzamo Ezra and quickly secured himself as a loving and very much loved member of our pack! He has been such a wonderful addition and has brought soo much joy to our home. Gizzamo loves everyone and never meets a stranger. His life is full of love, play, treats and warmth.

I was very blessed to be able to groom this dog. Enzo hit the lottery with his owners. This is what they wrote on my page.
Rochelle did a PHENOMENAL job taking care of our rescue boy, Vincenzo!
Enzo came to us with a very difficult past. His entire life up until we adopted him had been spent in a cage, sitting in his own filth due to a hoarding situation. He arrived at the shelter completely covered in mats. His paw pads were raw, blistered, and bleeding from standing in his own urine for so long. He was so scared at the shelter intake that it took three people to get him out of his kennel. We were told that his intake grooming had to be done with him sedated due to his severe state and extreme fearfulness.
Even with his history, Rochelle didn’t hesitate to take Enzo as a client. She was so patient with him as he slowly worked up the courage to stand on her grooming table. We could tell that Rochelle had a lot of experience with fearful, hard-to-groom dogs. Her care and attention to detail were truly amazing. Enzo left looking like a completely new dog! He did so much better than we thought he would do with this first grooming session, and I truly think it was all due to Rochelle’s patience and expertise. Enzo finally got to have a positive grooming experience and I think he’ll be excited to go back next time! We highly recommend Rochelle for any and all pet grooming needs!
