Focus on Self-Care to Support Others
As a peer support specialists, we often prioritize others, but it’s vital to care for yourself first. Here are a few self-care tips to keep your mind, body, and spirit strong:
1. Start with Gratitude: Take a moment to reflect on one thing you’re grateful for today. Gratitude can shift your mindset and reduce stress.
2. Move Your Body: Stretch, walk, or dance for 10-15 minutes. Movement helps release tension and boost energy.
3. Set Boundaries: Know when to say “no” and allow yourself time to recharge without guilt.
4. Check-In with Yourself: Pause and ask, “How am I feeling today?” Acknowledge your emotions and address what you need.
Your well-being is just as important as those you support. Remember, you can’t pour from an empty cup!
