My Inspiration

Inspiration is the spark that fuels creativity, innovation, and the courage to act. It’s that sudden moment of clarity—a good idea, a new direction, or the inner push that tells you to keep going. At CSE Formulations, inspiration is the foundation of everything we create.

One of my greatest inspirations is Madam C.J. Walker. Her story encourages me to pursue possibilities I once thought were beyond my reach, especially in the world of product formulation.

Born Sarah Breedlove on December 23, 1867, Madam C.J. Walker rose from poverty and the cotton fields of the South to become the first self-made female millionaire in America. Her journey began with a vision—a desire to solve real problems and uplift others. Through determination and an unwavering belief in her own potential, she built a haircare empire at a time when few opportunities were available to women, especially women of color.

She once said, “I promoted myself into the business of manufacturing hair goods and preparations. I have built my own factory on my own ground.” That declaration reflects not only her confidence, but her willingness to create her own path when none existed.

Her legacy reminds me that inspiration is not passive—it is active. It invites us to dream bigger, work harder, and build boldly.

So I ask you:

Bonita is a licensed professional in both aesthetics and cosmetology and has spent over 20 years in the beauty industry, including working with some of the world’s most high-end brands. As an educator in the field, she has inspired many with her knowledge and dedication to holistic skincare.

Her journey to creating CSE Formulations began with a personal mission—after facing her own skin concerns and driven by a lifelong love for skincare, Bonita started formulating products that are both effective and naturally nourishing. Through self-study and advanced coursework, she became a skilled formulator who believes in addressing skin health from the inside out.

When she’s not in the lab creating your favorite products, Bonita enjoys spending time with family, reading, learning new things, writing, and even singing 🎶.
