I would like to thank everyone for all the support over the last 5 years.

When Carter, Ashton, Bucky, and I started this thing, our primary goal was to DEVELOP players and prepare them for high school softball — and hopefully beyond. Winning mattered, but it was never our top priority.

We did things differently than a lot of other teams. We didn’t always have the most talent, but we believed in every single one of our girls and worked hard to help them become the best version of themselves. When Bucky moved on, Kade stepped in, and the mindset never changed.

Without question, we had the best coaching staff around — and that’s not including me. I mostly just made the schedule. Those other coaches poured their hearts and souls into Surge and fully committed themselves to developing every player who came through our program.

And I can honestly say the mission was accomplished.

We’ve kept up with former and current Surge players, and every single one of them has flourished in high school softball. Not one player came through our program and got worse or stayed the same. They all improved — and most improved tremendously.

That’s what I’m most proud of.

We were a program that DEVELOPED players. We didn’t go out and cherry-pick athletes that someone else had already built. We believed in growth, hard work, culture, and commitment. That will always mean something to me.

Like every team, we had our ups and downs. I know I’m not everyone’s favorite person, and I understand that. But I can honestly say I never made a decision with bad intentions or ill will toward anyone. Sometimes leadership requires hard decisions, and while they may not always have been the right ones, they were always made with what I believed was best at the time.

If I ever upset anyone along the way, I sincerely apologize.

These girls are going to continue doing great things. They’ll play for different coaches, wear different uniforms, and continue making people proud. I’ll still be following them, supporting them, and cheering them on because they deserve nothing but the best.

I hope every player who came through Surge will always be proud of the bond, culture, and standard we built together.

Just remember what got you there:

Selfless
United
Relentless
Grit
Excellence

Surge 16U will not be fielding a team this Summer. We have 6-8 very good ball players with great attitudes that will be looking for a new team. Reach out to me for more info.
