That's a wrap on the 7th Annual Modesto 48 Hour Film Competition! 🎬
Thank you to all the filmmakers for an incredible night at another sold-out State Theatre screening.
Congrats to our Top 17 films and to all the winners of the night. And a huge congrats to all 67 films that were completed this year.
75 teams. 400+ filmmakers and actors. One amazing community.
Cannot wait to see you all again at the next filmmaking event. 🎥✨

Where the filmmakers at? Here in Modesto! Another amazing Filmmaker Meet Up. 30 folks rolling through to discover the film scene in the valley, connect, and become a community. Thank you and for hosting us!
In 2019 I had the chance to start running a small, local film competition in my hometown of Modesto. Who knows how many will care? Five years later, we have had over 200 teams compete, over 180 films have been made, we've awarded $14,000 in cash prizes, and we sold out the State Theatre of Modesto to a crowd of 550 people for the Finale Screening!
Growing up in Modesto I didn't think a film community existed, turns out it just needed someone to hold up a hand and say "show up at this time and place" and they showed up - big!
It makes my heart overflow to see what we've created in this community. Now people I've met through the competition are doing even bigger things! The MJC film and TV program is back with Sky Tallone, the Central Valley Film Project has been created by Jacob True, and countless projects have been started thanks to people meeting each other during our event.
Thank you to our Modesto filmmakers for 5 incredible years. Here's my love letter to you.
