Alabama's Memorial Day Forecast:
It feels like we haven't seen much of a break from all the rain and thunderstorms. As this plume of moisture continues to drift across the southeast the next several days, rain chances stay relatively high.
Memorial day starts out with some clouds, patchy fog, and light showers. As the morning progress we will likely start to see more downpours and thunderstorms develop. If more sunshine comes out in the late morning, thunderstorms could grow stronger.
The worst case scenario includes wind gusts up to 40 mph and intense lightning, but even that's below the "severe" threshold.
Regardless, while I don't think everyone will see rain all day tomorrow, the best potential lies during the afternoon and evening.
I would go ahead and plan to spend your day in-doors.
Also now is a good time to remind people of two things:
- Practice boat safety: Lets not have any boat-related headlines tomorrow.
- If you hear thunder roar, go indoors. Self-explanatory.
