Back when U-6 used to mean something, we paid closer attention to the whole jobs picture. U-3 shows the unemployed, but U-6 reveals the hidden strain, workers who can’t find enough hours or gave up looking. With U-6 climbing to 8.1%, it raises the question: are we overlooking the bigger story?
