At our last performance together with Michael on July 14, 2024 at the Art and Garden Festival in Petaluma, CA, Michael collapsed after the show. After he came to, we got him checked in at Santa Rosa General Hospital to find out what was going on. He soon found out he needed triple bypass surgery, which he got and everything went well, and he was on the mend. Unfortunately, they found other things and he was soon diagnosed with tongue cancer.

We felt it best to keep the information private until his family was ready to take care of the proper details etc.
Per Michael’s request, we kept his situation private, which was difficult! ❤️

We stayed in touch with him throughout his situation, even though we were getting ready to relocate out of the area, just a few months later. 
It was very challenging to not share this information with people close to us and those who knew him, but we felt it was the respectable thing to do until the proper time came, and that is now.

Michael was Luvplanet’s sound engineer since the very beginning of the band back in 2003. And Mark‘s relationship with Michael began when he was 16 years old at early local shows in Alameda, CA.

Michael was one of a kind and true blue! He was our Family! There are endless memories in our minds with Michael and our memories together will always be with us on our road forward! So go and celebrate one of the good ones, Michael Oliver!!
