The transition from analog to digital recording and playback technology brought about a change in the sound. The music aesthetic called “lo-fi” is a reaction to the excessively “hi-fi” records whose dishonest culture help bring upon an era of big budget recording artists, controlled by the marketers and increasingly narrow niches of popular music. Lo-Fi stands for creative and unassailable as any new and innovative movement in the history of music.
