Whoever said that going plant-based had to be an unenjoyable experience?

When creating new dishes for my clients to try I’m always sure to keep three things in mind.

👉🏽Quality
👉🏾Texture
👉🏻Taste

𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆- where is the food sourced from? What’s in it? It’s it free of harmful chemicals, non-GMO, organic “ FRESH”?

𝗧𝗲𝘅𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲- If we are going to call it a burger, lasagna or taco dip... is the texture just right..is the dip cheesy and saucy? If not let’s not call it dip or a burger it the texture and consistency doesn’t make sense.

𝗧𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲- Did you season those veggies with flavors that make the dish pop? Adding the right combinations of seasoning will make you either love or hate a dish.

Approaching any dish with this in mind has allowed my clients, friends and family to fully experience plant-based foods with pure joy and happiness.

Imagine eating foods that taste great but are also incredibly healthy and packed with nutrients that support better health.

The food we eat is a significant part of our cultures and our everyday life. Most people on average are eating anywhere from 3-4 times a day which converts to 21-28 times a week and 84-112 a month. When we think of it like this, eating is a significant part of our life and literally influences how we show up in the world. Now when we talk about food addictions, I’m not talking about the more obvious one’s where an individual is binge eating. I am referring to the one’s that have grown an emotional attachment to a certain food because it’s a part of their culture—they’ve been eating it since they were a kid. In other cases, one has developed a dependency on the food because it makes them feel a certain way temporarily. With many of the foods that exist in the store today; they contain several additives that stimulate the brain and make us crave specific foods throughout our day. Let’s take Doritos for an example. They’re crunchy, zesty, cheesy and literally the perfect snack when watching a game or if you’re just chillen. Have you ever noticed that you can’t just eat one? Here’s why…there is a chemical found in Doritos called Monosodium Glutamate(MSG) that is considered a flavor enhancer that also sends signals to your brain to encourage overeating. Sadly, this chemical is found in other foods such as oriental foods and other snack items too. It’s not just MSG we have to be aware of, but sugar also since it also stimulates the brain. Sugar has been found to induce reward and cravings that are similar to those induced by addictive drugs. So, when we really begin to understand these simple truths, it’s important to not fall victim to these chemicals to avoid creating these type of food addictions that eventually lead to sickness and disease.

What foods are you currently eating that you feel as though you can’t live without? Is it because the food is indeed a health promoting food? Perhaps, it’s a food that has been manipulated and convinced you that it’s amazing due to the additives it contains. I invite you to begin taking a deeper look into why you love a food so much. Take the steps today to improve your health. You owe it to yourself💚
