Shamanic Lodge

Yesterday I had two women visit me for the "catch up time" offer I made a few days ago.
The catch up time was for people to reserve a block of time to ask me anything about Shamanism. I like this type of meeting because it is focused on the specific interests of the people I meet.
In our conversation they told me how they had gone to many seminars and events and while those events were ok, something was always missing. These seminars and events were "pretty".

Reality. It's what is missing from most Shamanic events.

There aren't many real Shamans and certainly not enough of them for the population of the world. The general public doesn't get the opportunity to meet real Shamans so they don't know what to expect. What the public becomes familiar with is the person who went through some courses and then became a Shaman after completing those courses. Or, one night in a dream, their spirit guides told them they were a Shaman and that day they went out into the world to practice and teach Shamanism. Then there is the book store owner that will sell Shamanic book for a while then start teaching Shamanism and publish a book!

Yesterday Martha and I were talking about the Shamanic arena in the present time. I made the comment that if I wanted to get rich in this scene, all I need to do is get some Shamanic clothes , wear more crystals and animal body parts, create lots of beautiful meditations with white light, upper and lower worlds and dimensions, spirit guide meetings and finding animal totems......
I could have "ceremonies" where I have people lay down, fill a room with sage smoke and play some Celtic CD and tell people they are going on a journey while I take a nap.
(I actually went to one of those in the Bonn Germany area.)

I think I'll keep doing things the way I do. I like seeing the look in people's eyes when they wake up from a life of social programming. I like the excited stories people tell me when could sit at home and watch what was happening in another location far away, while they were awake and without drugs, and how they got confirmation on the physical plane that what they saw was true.
I like helping people live past their death date after doctors told them they only had a couple months to live.
I like teaching people how to do the same things I do.
I love meeting the type of people like the two women I met yesterday. People who want real Shamanism.

A Shaman is like a blacksmith and the people are like iron.
The Shaman needs to put the iron in the fire and add carbon so the iron can become steel. The Shaman will take a person through a similar process as he does with the steel. The "fire" can be a situation, emotion or exercise that brings the person to a pliable state so they can be shaped into the person they want to be. After the process of shaping, the Shaman initiates the cooling process. The red hot steel is quickly put into cold water or oil so the steel will get hard and have the strength to pass the tests of life.

People say there are many types of Shamanism and that training doesn't need to be hard. I suppose that can be true. I don't know about every kind of Shamanism. I do know that almost everyone can recognize the sound of fine steel.
