I'm in the process of rewriting SOS (System of Suffering) which is about discovery and breaking free. I was inspired by this screening to rework what I had written and will add one additional chapter to my editorial while rephrasing some of the other chapters. Please, be my guest and watch this amazing film. You'll cry, jump for joy, and maybe change the way you see the world.

I was told, "It was not good enough". I figured it was a sign from the universe putting my feet down to touch the ground once more. And I did for years, but now, after working on someone else's dream, I am retired. I've reached the age where it doesn't matter anymore what other people think. So, here I am.
I decided to write using a pen name much like my artist name, Ken Law. JC or Justin Cain is not my real name; nevertheless, it does have meaning. JC was my father's first and middle initials. He preferred to be called JC Law. The J is James and the C, I'll keep that a secret.
As an artist, I like to do warm-ups before I get down to painting my next masterpiece. The same is true for writing. Below is a short warm-up.
Feel free to leave a comment. I love to read them.
Earthling Me:
I identify as an Earthling. I am immersed in a life rich in diversity, progress, health, and happiness and surrounded by a lush, living landscape captivating to any life form that dares
to gaze upon it. The vibrant greens of the towering canopies dance in harmony with the brilliant hues of wildflowers, their petals opening like joyful hands reaching for the sun's
nourishing fingertips. Each morning, as dawn spills sunlight across the horizon, the symphony of chirping birds and rustling leaves awakens my spirit. I meander without worry through meadows awash in golden light, flowers swaying to and fro, feeling the soft earth beneath my feet and breathing in the sweet scent of damp soil. A fragrant that holds a simple reminder that life is both fleeting and eternal.
I sit on a moss-covered stone, cradled by nature's embrace, taking a deep breath and closing my eyes to see the world as it is. Souls like me are merely whispers caught in a storm, drowning in the chaos of someone else’s design. The hate, the lies, the love, the truth are overshadowed by money, power, and corruption. Draining caring earthlings of their passion, hope, and desire. Lost in a labyrinth of technology, where anything goes, trapped in a ceaseless struggle, where the beauty that surrounds me is but a thin mask that hides the rot beneath. Beyond the blissful meadows lies an expanse of concrete and despair, where relentless machines churn out smoke that darkens the sky, and the dreadful noise of progress pierces the ears of the sleepwalkers who cease to care.
We have lost our sense of purpose, confusing it with someone else's agenda; our will, mistaking it for apathy; and our autonomy, accepting oppression in its place. Yet, in this twilight of humanity, a spark of hope still flickers within the hearts of those who remember our true nature. We are not merely cogs in a machine, but stewards of this precious planet we inhabit. As Earthlings, we have the power to reclaim our humanity, cast off the chains of
cultural idealism, and reconnect with the sacred life force that beats between our toes. It is time to discard discriminatory ideologies, discard political affiliations, and stop blaming one
another, and instead come together as one to protect and cherish what remains of our environment. Awake from our induced state of complacency, peel away the layers of societal
programming and misinformation, and rediscover the innate connection we share. By embracing our role as caretakers of this planet, we can then cultivate a new standard for our world. One that honors the delicate balance of nature and fosters the potential for genuine human connection. Only then can we begin to heal the damage we've inflicted upon ourselves and our home, forging a path toward a future where we truly embody what it
means to be Earthlings.
