Under that stage name his music successfully reached many different platforms including BET, MTV, Hot107.1, K97FM, Hot107.9, Street Report Magazine, Dub Magazine, 2011 Dub Car Show Tour, and more. DeRone still uses the name 2Cent but not as an artist. Aside from being an accomplished artist, he is an even more accomplished producer. As a producer DeRone is know as "2Cent Productions".
2Cent Productions has worked with many different artists including Young Buck, Project Pat, Skippa Da Flippa, Calico Jonez, Kia Shine, OG Boo Dirty, Starlito, Don Trip, Jelly Roll, KinFolk Thugs, Dirty Fresh, KVO and many others. He has worked with artists in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Miami, Dallas, Nashville, Atlanta, and St. Louis to name a few places. His first beat ever sold received radio play in San Francisco,CA. The record was entitled "Doin That" by Yung Lott, Prime Time Click/Fare Game artist in 2009. At the time he was a freshman in college and only 18. At 19 he produced the Radio Hit Single “HardHead” featuring himself as an artist and fellow Memphis rapper KVO. The success of the record lead to the duo of KVO & 2Cent getting the "HardHead" record featured on BET’s 106 & Park as the "New Joint Of The Day" in August of 2011. He has produced 10 records that have been played on radio to date. As a producer he brings a diverse sound always keeping his ear versatile being innovative in his sound. 2Cent Productions also does mixing & mastering, custom dance mixes, radio commercials/jingles, and sound for video. Overall DeRone Payne is more than just an artist, he is an entrepreneur, savvy businessman, and producer. His past ventures have included owning, marketing, and operating an events and entertainment company in Nashville, TN and working with in and running many different audio recording studios throughout the south. Currently he is running a branding solutions company with his wife and doing music management/consulting. DeRone Payne has the vision and the will to overcome any obstacle placed in front of him.
