She has sewn, painted, crocheted, quilted and done
many other creative enterprises in her 82 years. When I purchased the Tin Lizzie
quilt machine it was to help her to finish the upwards of 75 quilts waiting to be
finished. We have had an absolute blast learning on this machine and have
already created many more since it's purchase.

Quilt Yur Blessins? To Quilt or how to Quilt? That would be the question. When planning to acquire a quilt machine we looked high and low. We visited my daughter Melody in Ohio and stopped both coming and going on that trip looking at quilt machines and quilt stores. We tested several kinds of machines, and of course saw many beautiful fabrics. We ended up in Padukah KY and visited the Quilt Museum as well as Hancocks of Padukah. We stumbled onto the "quilt in a day" fabric shop as well as others. We took another trip to Ft. Leavenworth KS to see one of my lovely nieces Elizabeth get married and visited many a quilting place on that trip as well. On a trip to Shreveport LA, to visit my sister Catherine, we visited a lovely quilt store and brought in some quilts to quilt on their machine and had a wonderful time with Mitti who gave us lots of wonderful advice and instruction. But still we searched. We took a trip to Huntsville AL and looked at a machine there and asked lots of questions, then we came home and thought and thought and thought. I was convinced that Mom had upwards of 75 quilts to be quilted and several others still in pieces, so I knew that the machine would be an investment as well as bringing to life Mom's dream of "doing it all". So in the end, with the help of Donna from Huntsville AL and John from Shapleys here in Memphis as well as Tin Lizzie corporate (not to mention a nosey daughter Dotty who let her fingers do the walking and her mouth do the talking) and a large loan from my 401K we ended up with a fantastic deal on making a dream come true and so the Tin Lizzie Machine came to Memphis in mid July 2012.
And so we have quilted and quilted. Not to mention continuing to make quilts. We had a family gathering at Thanksgiving in Shreveport where most of my 9 siblings came to our "50's" party. I am one of 9 children all born one at a time in nine years and nine months. And between November and Feb. 10th, we were all 9 in our 50's. Mom gave away to my siblings and I twenty five of the quilts she had done and we had finished. (Only one was returned). But we won't bring up that one.
Anyway, since the beginning of the Quilt Yur Blessins business opportunities we have quilted and finished most of those 75 quilts as well as managed to make additionally over 30 quilts and give those away as well.
So that is the story thus far. We have some ideas of what we want to do. We are always willing to take suggestions. As this unfolds we will put out more information for all to see. Please continue to watch and learn as we blossom into what we are meant to be.
Bernadette and Gladys, or Mom and Grandma, or Mom's, or the Grandmas, even Aunts........ We are Quilt Yur Blessins...
