A "Wee" update:

Last week, P*e Wee was acting off. She didn't want to eat and was barely wanting to move.
We ran some blood work on her at work and found she had an infection of an unknown origin. Her WBCs were high with marked elevation in her neutrophils.
Urinalysis was unremarkable.
Her x-rays showed a full tummy, which made no sense considering she didn't eat and her colon had large amount of f***s in it. She had a giant bladder, which also made no sense because she had just urinated a considerable amount. Her vet postured the idea that maybe there was some sort of dysfunction going on that was keeping P*e Wee from emptying her bladder all the way and also her stomach/gut from emptying. Other than that, her x-rays showed no tumors.
Up until last week, we thought P*e Wee was eliminating somewhat normally. She was pooping in her crate and also having accidents when she would struggle to stand up from sitting, so we just thought she was incontinent, the exact opposite of constipated.
She was treated with antibiotics for infection and also for a possible stomach ulcer from continued steroid use. She returned to her normal ravenous self (from the steroids), but we noticed she wasn't pooping on her own without help..... And yes, that means a finger up the butt.... This is likely her degenerative myelopathy condition progressing.
This week, we contemplated the worst and even had her scheduled to cross the Rainbow Bridge, but we are not ready and neither is P*e Wee, to be honest. Despite her ailments, she is still such a happy dog, such a trooper.
We have one more idea, one more medication to try, and while we know that P*e Wee has limited time with us regardless if the medication works, we just have to try it before we make the ultimate decision to say goodbye.
Here's to hoping this works because I am not ready to lose my heart dog. Not while she still has that light her eyes and her derpy grin on her face.
Keep P*e Wee in your thoughts and prayers as she goes through the final stages of her life.
She truly is one in a million.

That's 45x her body weight!

This is double her heaviest weight pulled from her last competition.

She crushed it today and we are so proud of our old lady.
