In this Lab Router project, we replaced manual steps with a PLC-controlled sequence and a simple HMI so operators can run the process safely and consistently.

This week we completed the PLC logic and an initial HMI layout concept for a Lab Router automation system. The system is designed to automate clamp control, forward/reverse motion, homing, and safe reset reducing manual handling and improving consistency.

The HMI shown is a layout and functional mockup used to validate operator flow and control logic. The final production HMI is still in progress. This type of upgrade is ideal for shops looking to improve throughput without replacing the entire machine.
