Consuming fat does NOT make you fat. But at one point in our history, this was the common belief.
Thank goodness research is continually confirming the benefits of incorporating healthy fats into a diet.
The reality is there isn’t only ONE contributing factor of gaining fat other than being in a calorie surplus - whether it’s coming from Soy protein isolate, Ramen noodles, and corn oil or Flank steak, Broccoli and butter.
Even though your healthiest choice of food (steak, broccoli and butter) provides the best nutrient density, when in abundance can cause weight gain.
Fact is most Americans follow the Standard American Diet (SAD). Which looks like a diet consisting of ultra-processed foods, added sugar, bad fats, and sodium.
With this in mind, if you’re looking for a small change in your nutrition, you can easily start by consuming healthy fats and avoiding toxic fats.
Also, as best as you can, avoid all processed and fried foods as these usually contain hydrogenated (trans fat) oils. Instead, choose real, grass-fed butter or ghee over margarine and spreads.
