‘One punch at a time’: Parkinson’s fighters find strength, hope through Rock Steady Boxing 07/15/2026

Back in April, I shared a story highlighting Rock Steady Boxing, a program proven to help those living with Parkinson’s Disease manage their symptoms and improve mobility, balance, and quality of life.

Today, I happened to run into head instructor Patti Batt, who told me they've welcomed more than 10 new fighters (!!!) since the story aired and continue to hear from people interested in learning more about the program.

Parkinson's Disease is a fight that hits close to home for me, which made this story especially meaningful to tell.

Hearing that it helped connect even more people to a supportive community and valuable resources truly means a lot.

If you or someone you know is living with Parkinson's Disease and would like to learn more about Rock Steady Boxing, please check out the story below:

That's the motto powering Baraboo native Max Koenig through an 8,000-mile ride across Asia. Inspired by his family's experience with cancer, Koenig is raising awareness for the Restoring Hope Transplant House, and the families who rely on it every day.
