Another gorgeous sunrise! Look who paid us a visit this morning.😊🌅

Tomorrow is the Summer Solstice, meaning it is the official start of astronomical summer.☀️🌺⛵️ It is also the longest day of the year with 15 hours of daylight! After tomorrow, we start losing daylight for the next 6 months. Unfortunately, it is not going to be the most summer-like day with rain chances and cooler temps in the forecast.

A low pressure system will track east across Illinois and Indiana tomorrow, bringing rain chances to our area during the afternoon and evening hours. Right now, the best chances for rain will mainly be for Madison and points southward, with it being more hit-or-miss as you head further north. Overall, not expecting any severe weather or heavy rain, but if you have outdoor plans for Father's Day, this will have an impact on those as it may rain for a few hours.

We will continue to monitor the latest trends in terms of the track of this low pressure system because there could still be some tweaks to who has the best chance for rain if the track of the low continues to shift south.👍🏻

During my time off earlier this month, I went back to visit my old stomping grounds — Purdue University. My mom is also a Purdue grad and we went together.🙂 I am always so thankful for my time at Purdue and for my education there in atmospheric science and meteorology.🌦️ It’s fun to reminisce on old memories in special places…so, I wanted to share some pictures of the campus for those who have never seen it! It’s been cool to now live in another Big 10 college town and to get to experience the UW comradery.😊❤️🦡

A supercell thunderstorm tracked across southern Wisconsin on Wednesday, producing four tornadoes in its lifespan. This brings the state total up to 35 for the 2026 season. Below are the details for each one from the National Weather Service.🌪️

Happy Friday! Lots of sunshine is headed our way today with highs warming into the mid-70s. Chances for scattered showers and storms return as we head into this evening. As you can see below, there is an isolated threat (level 1/5) for stronger storms in areas northwest of Madison. Though the potential for stronger storms is low, do be mindful if you have plans to be out and about this evening!
