Seen as an expression of self and a work of A.R.T (a play on Ashari’s initials), she wants to bring her edginess to the high-fashion runway scene. Hailing from Macon, a town with a big history of rocking out the South with the Allman Brothers and the soul of Little Richard, Ashari has been modeling since 2014 after completing her certificate in Television Print at modeling and career center, John
Casablancas. From this time, she has been involved in numerous runway shows including, Sara Jane’s “Styles from the Past for the Look of Today” and Mack Couture’s “Spring into Fashion”. Some of her most recent work ranges from being published in Urban Spice Magazine and ripping the runway in Sheen Magazine’s Legendary Weekend, as well as Walk Fashion Show’s Tour Atlanta Edition. Her modeling experience does not stop there as she has participated in creative modeling for a local live body painting art show. The biggest influence in Ashari’s decision to become a model was simply watching the vanity behind the scenes of being a runway model. All the glamour of the shoes, the clothes, the accessories and jewelry; all the way to the hairstyles and makeup is what gets Ashari’s blood pumping to murder the runway with every power stride she takes to the end and back. Growing up watching model powerhouses such as Naomi Campbell, Coco Rocha, Kate Moss, as well as following upcoming alternative runway model, Slick Woods, and Uglyworldwide, molded Ashari’s fierce walk into what it is today. Not only is she interested in ripping the runway, she would love to expand her portfolio to include being an editorial and catalog model with publications in Vogue, PAPER, Harper’s Bazaar, as well as leading black culture magazines, Essence and Ebony magazines.
