ART combines well established techniques from several traditional forms of psychotherapy including the rapid eye movements similar to EMDR, Gestalt techniques, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), solution focused therapy, relaxation skills training, and Narrative Therapy. ART is NOT related to hypnosis; a client is always in control and fully aware during the entire ART session, with the therapist only guiding the process.
