Damascus tanto knife from metal sponge
I turned the metal sponge into a damascus knife, the metal sponge comes from chipping waste that accumulates during lathe work.
Dark Gold Blade from 700 Fishhooks
The fishhook is made of high carbon steel with nickel plating on the surface
Steel powder 1095+4% nickel (tiny particles)
Regarding the color, it is formed by tempering at 220 degrees Celsius. Actually straw or antiqued brass. Dark gold is just a gimmick. The color formed at around 220 degrees Celsius does not cause the blade to lose its hardness like blue does.
