My grandfather 👴🏽 served in WWII and refused to watch war films for the rest of his life.

He told me he could never get the faces of the friends he lost out of his head.

Both my uncles earned their citizenship fighting as Green Berets in Vietnam and also had heavy stories. One day they were immigrants in Nicaragua 🇳🇮 and the next day they were fighting for their lives in the jungle across the world.

Today I’m thinking about the people who never made it home… and the ones who came home carrying those memories forever.

Memorial Day means more than a day off. 🇺🇸
