2/ Freeze your credit

Freeze at all three bureaus. That blocks new credit in your name until you temporarily lift it.

3/ Get an IRS Identity Protection PIN

This helps stop someone from filing a tax return using your SSN.

If you already know your SSN has been exposed, add these.

4/ Block electronic access to your SSA record

Extra secure, but it makes changes harder for you too.

5/ Turn on E Verify Self Lock

Stops someone from using your SSN in E Verify for employment verification.
