The brigadeiro is a traditional Brazilian dessert that originated back in 1920. These delectable truffles were later created by a local confectioner in Rio de Janeiro, to help promote the presidential candidacy of Brigadier Eduardo Gomes in 1946.

These simplistic yet elegant bite-sized chocolate sweets are just heavenly! Given this being my first attempt at making these Brazilian truffles, I would definitely say that I am very pleased and satisfied with the outcome! Pictured here are the traditional chocolate brigadeiros as well as an enhanced coconut version!
