On the 3rd day of special session, House Democrats voted against 66 local property tax relief bills for communities in Georgia.
A two-thirds majority was needed to put the question on the ballot for the voters to decide but now they are blocked from even voting. π€π€―

Jubilee Day, Freedom Day and now Juneteenth honors the day freedom finally reached more than 250,000 enslaved Black Americans in Texas. On June 19, 1865, Union soldiers arrived in Galveston to announce and enforce the freedom promised by the Emancipation Proclamation.
The announcement came through General Order No. 3, issued by Major General Gordon Granger, more than two years after President Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation. Later that year, the ratification of the Thirteenth Amendment ended slavery nationwide.
Today, Juneteenth serves as a powerful reminder of the enduring value of liberty and the continued pursuit of freedom for all Americans. πΊπΈ
