Канатоходец

Как восхищает шаг канатоходца,
Он, словно бабочка, порхает над толпой,
Один неверный шаг, и он сорвется,
Один не ровный вздох, и он изгой.

Циркач парит, жонглирует, танцует,
Прекрасен, точен и размерен ход,
Внизу то замирают, то ликуют,
Гадают, повезет, не повезет.

Куражится шальная свистопляска,
И кажется, что путь еще далек,
Никто не верит в быструю развязку,
И каждый на канате одинок.

Струна судьбы натянута с рожденья,
Пусть разная, но всем дается шанс,
Зависит все от нашего уменья
Как удержать баланс.

The Tightrope Walker

How wondrous is the walker’s flight,
He drifts above the crowd, a flame.
One step awry — a fatal height,
One breath astray — a fall, a shame.

He dances high, his torches gleam,
So measured, graceful, bold his art.
Below they hush, then cry, then dream,
Will fortune fail, or take his part?

The whistles swirl, the fiddles play,
The road ahead seems long, unknown.
No one believes it ends today,
And on the rope he walks alone.

The string of fate is stretched from birth,
For all it waits, for all it stands.
Our skill alone decides its worth-
How well we balance in our hands.
