Sketch Van

I met Reid at Vantopia 8 in 2022 and always look forward to my interactions with him. Wonderfully understated and congenial he is always the first to nonchalantly saunter up with a slight grin giving away how excited he is about whatever is happening. Usually music, motorcycles, skateboarding, and especially vans. In particular hanging out around vans, vanners and his van. He has reason to be excited about his absolutely stunning rig which is a 1978 G10 originally owned by his friends uncle Mike who “knew he liked shiny s**t”. The van was 85% done, Reid re-barreled the rims, re-did the flares, added ac, pinstriped and painted the interior dash and did a bunch of extras. He pulled the engine and re did it over last winter, it’s a 383 stroker with a comp cam, aluminum heads, comp rocker rollers, edelbrock AVS2 thunder carburetor, custom ceramic coated long tube headers, Holley frost bite radiator, th350 trans with 4.10’s in the rear and sounds ferocious.
Paint was done by Gary miller (aka Gamboogie) in 2016. Besides the obvious, the van being spotless and the massive murals, what is really striking and unique, is the formidable stance. It rolls on Mikey Thompson sportsman SR’s at 29x15 in the rear and 26x15 in the front on those re-barreled rims. Reid is hustling to swap in a 700r4 transmission prior to so let’s all give him some s**t so he gets it done and can roll down and van internationally! You have to see this van and you definitely need to hang with Reid! **t

Glacier VC spring dust off! Come out before the show and line 'em up for the first time this year. We can talk summer plans (Vantopia, convoy to Van Nats, montvana schedule and new features, cruise plan for around the flathead lake and Rolling Death). The show lineup is stacked and it will be the first Weaponeers set in five years.
If by any chance out of towners want to join in camping at the house can be had for the weekend of course (our place is always open to vanners). Let's Roll!

The dual mid-dodge rigs of .eliason.art.machine and . One dodge lives in South Dakota (after a fresh rebuild on the 360 just before going in storage) conveniently staged in the Midwest for easy access to nats especially this year. The white rig resides with them in Seattle snd was rescued from some folks that used it to go to burning man every year. So now definitely living a better life. The van was red and painted entirely white save for the flames taped off beforehand to expose the only traces of the old color. Sandra and Brandon made their way out from Seattle for last year and I got a chance to catch up with them out that way in the fall a long with some other van folk. As it turns out there is a pretty solid contingent of vanners in the SeaTac area all willing to put in the miles. Washington vanners in general are a force and always delightful. I look forward to seeing these two again in just about a month!!!
