Don’t Cut Corners on Wiring!⚡

Wiring might not be the most exciting part of your off-grid solar setup—but it’s one of the most important!

Using wires that are too small for your current load can lead to overheating, melted insulation, or even electrical fires. Undersized wires also cause voltage drop, meaning your system wastes energy before it even reaches your batteries or inverter.

For off-grid systems, DC wiring especially needs attention—it carries high current at low voltage, which means even small resistance can lead to major losses or safety risks. All DC conductors should be properly protected in metal raceways or conduit to reduce damage risk and comply with code.

👉 Pro tip: Always calculate your wire size based on current, distance, and voltage drop limits (typically 3% or less). And when in doubt, size up—safety first!

✅ Use UL-rated, stranded copper wire for flexibility and reliability.
✅ Protect exposed cables with conduit and proper strain relief.
✅ Label circuits clearly for maintenance and troubleshooting.

Proper wiring doesn’t just keep your system safe—it keeps it performing efficiently for years to come. Take the guesswork and danger out of the equation-let EcoEthic Solar provide turnkey service for your off grid needs!
